Crys (pronounced “Chris”) Rivers, PhD, LP, JD is a licensed clinical psychologist and practicing neuropsychologist. She earned her PhD from Arizona State University. She completed a 1-year predoctoral residency in Neuropsychology at Mayo Clinic - Arizona, and received two years of specialized training in psychovocational assessment of individuals with low vision, traumatic brain injury, and serious mental illness through Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration.
Dr. Rivers completed her APA-accredited internship, with major rotations in neuropsychology, Geropsychology, and pain psychology, and her post doctoral supervision at VA Central Iowa Health Care System. She received additional supervised post doctoral training in neurodevelopmental assessment in an outpatient setting at Central Iowa Psychological Services.
Prior to obtaining her PhD, Dr. Rivers attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, obtaining a Juris Doctor. While at UNC-CH, she wrote and edited for a health psychology and telemedicine journal. As a neuropsychologist, Dr. Rivers has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in the areas of neuropsychology, resilience, PTSD, and chronic pain.
